Mouth Full of Fruit
John Bosco
Seven years after his last album of new songs, the Minas Gerais artist presents 11 tracks accompanied by a band featuring piano, bass, drums, percussion, flute, trombone, and strings. Ten of them are new, including one instrumental, seven with his son, Francisco Bosco, a collaboration with Aldir Blanc, another with Roque Ferreira, and a reinterpretation of "Cio da Terra" by Milton Nascimento and Chico Buarque.
To complete the star-studded cast of Boca Cheia de Frutas: Jaques Morelenbaum participates in “The song of the earth by a thread", and Rogério Caetano in “Dinosaurs of Candelária".
With the guitar at the forefront, the songs feature nuances of samba, jazz, and bossa nova, in a rhythmic blend that is the artist's signature. In the recording, the composer rediscovers the influence of the traditional culture of indigenous peoples and Afro-descendants as primary sources of Brazilian musicality.
