Tulipa Ruiz
After years of public anticipation, the São Paulo-born composer reveals herself transformed, with experimental and combative lyrics, sounds, and performances. Produced by Gustavo Ruiz, guitarist and Tulipa's brother, the album was recorded with analog recording on magnetic tape. In addition to musicians Gabriel Mayall on bass and Samuel Fraga on drums, the album features guest appearances by Negro Leo, João Donato, Luiz Chagas, brothers Pedro and Jonas Sá, and Liniker, who composed "Kamikaze Total." Flirting with rock, soul, and funk, while also maintaining a dialogue with the São Paulo independent music scene, the album is one of the best releases of 2022.
