Belchior (1974)
Belchior
With musical direction, arrangements and conducting by Marcus Vinicius, and production direction by Belchior, the debut album by the composer from Ceará features classics such as “Na Hora do Almoço” and “Todo Sujo de Batom”.
The LP pressed by NRC also features bonus tracks arranged by Rogério Duprat: the original recording of “A Palo Seco” and “Sorry, Bab”, which had only been released on vinyl on the original 1973 single.
In this work, concrete poetry meets the popular tradition of singers, and seventies rock and folk blend with baião. Accordion, triangle, zabumba, viola, guitar, bass, drums, and flute create a post-tropicalist sound, recombining regional and foreign elements.
