The release of the debut album by the Rio de Janeiro quartet, comprised of Dora Morelenbaum, Julia Mestre, Lucas Nunes, and Zé Ibarra, has proven to be one of the most exciting new acts on the national scene. Bala Desejo plays frevo, samba, salsa, rock, reggae, and disco, reinventing the tradition of MPB with creative arrangements and harmonies. To achieve this, the group features a band comprised of Alberto Continentino on bass, Daniel Conceição on percussion, and Thomas Harres on drums. In a spirit of re-carnivalizing life, embodying the symbiosis of music, poetry, and theater, the group offers the audience, in the performance tracks of "SIM SIM SIM," a kind of celebration of existence.
