To achieve the mix of rap and samba beats, the 11 tracks use samples from Paulinho da Viola , Antônio Carlos and Jocafi , Luiz Bonfá , Marku Ribas and João Nogueira and Zé Katimba . Percussion and guitars join the scratches, and D2's flow oscillates between rhyming and samba.
The Search for the Perfect Beat marks the second chapter in the quest for a sound that blends rap and hip hop with samba and the identity of Rio de Janeiro's North Zone. Recorded in Los Angeles, it was produced in collaboration with Mario Caldato Jr. and David "Marroquino" Corcos . In addition to the feats with will.i.am (from Black Eyed Peas ) and Stephan , there are other important participations, such as Ivan Conti Mamão (from Azymuth ), Seu Jorge , DJ Zegon , MC Marechal and DJ Nuts .
